Safe food for everyone.

Sherman Foods earns SQF certification.

Sherman Foods has now joined the ranks of some of the world’s most trusted food brands, being awarded SQF (Safe Quality Foods) certification on 01 December 2023.

SQF certification is a demonstration of world-standard food safety and quality controls.

It can cover any stage from farm to fork, including growing, producing, packing and supplying products.

The certification process is in-depth. For six months, the hardworking Sherman team reviewed, improved and tested policies and procedures to make sure they met the strict standards of the Safe Quality Foods Institute (SQFI).

As a result, consumers and suppliers of all Sherman Foods fine quality edible oils can trust the safety of the products, knowing they are made within validated food safety and quality controls.

The SQF certification program is recognised as conforming to the highest international standards by the Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) - the world’s largest network of food safety advocators.

Sherman Foods General Manager Greg Wharton said this global recognition shows just how significant an achievement SQF certification is for the business.

“Everything we’re doing hits a world standard in food safety,” he said.

“It’s something the big players have – like Heinz and SunRice.

This differentiates our business. We know that food manufacturers and chefs are looking at food safety and want to cover everything off in the safest possible way, including oils – and with good reason, because everyone in the world should have access to safe food all the time.

There are over 12,000 SQF certified sites across 40 countries.

SQF certification is reviewed via an unannounced recertification audit every one to three years.
